Electronic Warrants Help Both Law Enforcement and Judicial Officers

Government and law enforcement agencies can improve service deliveries through digital transformation. Marion County, Indiana did just that with an electronic warrants system. Law enforcement officers no longer need to fill out a paper-based warrant request, travel to the courthouse, and find a judge to approve the warrant. Officers complete the warrant request from their mobile computers and electronically transmit it to the courthouse. The judge on duty reviews and issues the warrant which is then transmitted back to the officer.

The e-warrants system was built on the Kofax Total Agility platform and integrated the Kofax Transformation and Import Connector Modules. From concept to rollout, it only took six weeks. In addition to rapid implementation, the warrant issuance cycle time was reduced from multiple hours to 18 minutes on average. Additional benefits all relate to efficiency improvements for both law enforcement and judicial officers.

Join our webinar to learn the benefits of an electronic warrants system, which include:

  • Full digital transformation of warrant issuance eliminating manual steps and physical logistics
  • Law enforcement administrative task reduction enabling more "policing time"
  • Judges and court clerks operating more efficiently in electronic workflows
  • Full process accountability and automated escalation procedures
