Leadership Breakfast, Green Government: Progress at DoD

President Obama’s insistence that federal agencies lead the way toward sustainability practices has encouraged the huge Department of Defense to step up its environmental stewardship programs. Defense installations across the world have won awards for environmental initiatives; the Air Force and Navy are working to reduce energy consumption; and DoD logisticians are involved in a complex project to mitigate environmental problems as we draw down forces in Iraq—cleaning up bases and toxic sites, reclaiming and accounting for excess equipment, shredding mountains of tires and more.

Join Government Executive Editor-in-Chief Timothy B. Clark and a panel of experts as they discuss the sustainability drive at the Department of Defense.
