Aircraft Airworthiness & Sustainment Conference

The 2nd Aircraft Airworthiness & Sustainment Conference is jointly sponsored by NASA, FAA, and DOD and succeeds the series of twelve Joint Conferences on Aging Aircraft. The Aging Aircraft Conferences addressed the safety of legacy aircraft operating near or beyond their original design service goal.

The Aircraft Airworthiness and Sustainment Conference expands the scope to consider the entire fleet life cycle; legacy aircraft with materials and designs of yesterday, new aircraft entering the fleet with advanced materials and structures, and development of sustainment technology for next-generation aircraft (improved materials, structures, systems, and processes).

By presenting a range of content, (research and development, technology transition, operational fleet experiences), the conference provides a forum to discuss today’s issues and available solutions, promote the transition of emerging technology into operations, and incorporate lessons learned and advanced technology to improve vehicle design and sustainment practices in the future.

The venue for AA&S 2011 is the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, downtown San Diego's newest waterfront hotel, offering first class meeting space, beautiful views and convenience to everything downtown San Diego has to offer.
