Discover tips and tricks on managing state and federal government accounting and contract compliance. Uncover the mystery of accounting system requirements and how the state of Maryland manages the compliance of their Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Small Business Reserve (SBR), and Veteran-Owned Small Business Enterprise (VSBE) programs.

Understand how your business can remain in compliance as you seek procurement opportunities. This session will address how to:

  • Develop government accounting system requirements best practices
  • Review Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Code of Maryland Regulations (COMR) requirements that affect a contractor’s account system
  • Calculate auditable indirect rates that comply with Federal Regulations for bidding on government RFPs and excluding any unallowable costs
  • Utilize state enterprise programs as a gateway into prime contracting.
  • Design a competitive indirect rate to win new awards
  • Understand what details of your indirect rates are shared with you subcontract vs. prime a contract when submitting cost proposals
