What's Working in the COVID-19 Response Using GIS

Maps and location data have been at the forefront of the COVID-19 response. The geographic information systems (GIS) community has been able to take the lessons learned from disaster response and transfer this knowledge quickly, to carry out meaningful impacts. GIS is helping communities make more data-driven decisions, allocate much-needed resources, and keep the public informed during the coronavirus outbreak.

Join us online Tuesday, April 7 from 2-2:45 p.m. ET/11-11:45 a.m. PT to learn the steps to applying GIS for public health preparedness. The content will cover the repeatable patterns state and local governments are using to prioritize at-risk populations, ensure testing sites are accurately placed, food drop-off locations are publicized, and more.

Specifically, you’ll learn:

  • The importance of identifying and organizing authoritative data to support operations and keep the public informed.
  • How to get the software and technical support you need free of charge to deploy Coronavirus Response solutions.
  • The lessons learned and best practices that you can follow to accelerate your operations.
