Battlefield Healthcare Series: Post Combat Casualty Care

Addressing Physical and Psychological Needs of our Post Combat Military Personnel

IDGA’s Battlefield Healthcare Series summits are highly recognized and respected forums where those in the military medicine community interested in continuing medical education, networking, and advanced learning can come together for advanced and focused discussions on up to date clinical diagnosis and treatment techniques, lessons learned from the battlefield, and panel discussions that also allow participants to earn continuing education credits.

With the conclusion of major battle operations in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and the continued ground presence within Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) the necessity of adjusted resources becomes evident. New advancements in military healthcare, rehabilitation, and civilian reintegration are of major importance to our armed services. Issues such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Substance Abuse Disorder (SUD) are now our military’s newest adversaries. Providing comprehensive wellbeing of the Warfighter has lead to the creating of more and more behavioural health programs in order to address issues such as PTSD, Substance Abuse, and suicide issues that face not just the DoD community, but the VA community and families as well.

Reasons to attend
