GEOConnect Series Training: GIS for the Rest of Us; Advanced Mapping in Tableau

This session will explore how Tableau can solve a wide variety of map-related data questions. While investigating various use cases, we will uncover how Tableau fundamentally works with data to create maps. During the hour participants will see how Tableau reads your data and assigns geographic roles so building maps can be very easy. If your organization has specific geographies that are stored in Spatial files such as shapefiles or Geodatabases, Tableau easily incorporates those spatial files as well. Finally, participants will view Tableau spatial functions which allow for answering specific geographic related analytical questions.
