GEOConnect Series Training: Unlocking the power of SAR for artificial intelligence and data fusion in global security applications

Attendees will learn the general data flow required for prototyping SAR-based analytics using open source software and cloud computing. We will discuss data aggregation across multiple SAR constellations via unified access and uniform tiling, and breakdown the individual SAR processing steps. Attendees will consider the challenges and best practices to extract unbiased, consistent, all-weather SAR measurements, and using calibrated, georeferenced SAR data to derive dynamic and 3D machine vision models of Earth for AR/VR. We will additionally discuss challenges of extending machine learning, deeplearning and transfer learning to SAR data, and showcase analysis algorithms and learning approaches, as well as the use of SAR for change detection and data fusion with other types of data.
