HIPAA Updates for 2021
Overview:
The sharing of information about COVID-19 transmission is critical to containing the COVID-19 pandemic. But although HIPAA already has some provisions for sharing PHI in emergencies and disasters in the Privacy Rule, which will be explained, DHHS has relaxed some other rules and stated that it will not enforce yet others to facilitate the effective prevention and treatment of the disease.
