NEA Minority Leadership Training - Midwest Region
Minority Leadership Training (MLT) Regional Seminars are designed to foster, promote, and enhance ethnic minority involvement in local, state, regional, and national Association policymaking and leadership. Six seminars (one per region) are held each year.
Each state president is encouraged to select a 6-member team of ethnic-minority members/leaders to attend. Funding for state team members is provided by the NEA Human and Civil Rights Department. Members of this state team are expected to attend the seminar for two consecutive years. Other NEA members can attend an MLT Seminar in their region, but their funding must be provided by either their local or state association or by the individuals themselves.
