The Great Debates: The Future of Trust

In an age of misinformation, disinformation, and fake news, how do we maintain, foster, and promote greater trust? It appears that nothing is off-limits; be it our elections, our courts and judicial systems, our supply chains or information technology systems. Our adversaries are learning to exploit any and all vulnerabilities in our society. What’s changed and how did we get here? And what needs to change to combat seemingly eroding trust on a societal level? This debate will examine centralized institutional trust, the impact that decentralized digital platforms have had on trust, and the roles that private-public partnerships will play in restoring trust.
