Access Granted: How to Flip the Script on Recruiting and Retaining Women in IT

Over the past year and a half, the pandemic made it painfully clear that inequalities for women and communities of color must be addressed in every industry. Although technology and government aren’t the only sectors that need to revise the systemic barriers holding these workers back, the problem is apparent to all. One stark example: Women remain woefully underrepresented in the technology industry. Despite making up about half of the total U.S. workforce, they hold only about 25 percent of jobs in tech — and we need to change that.

On Sept. 23, Government Technology will host a conversation among pioneering female leaders in technology aimed at providing access to underrepresented talent and increasing diversity in government IT. Join us at 11 a.m. Pacific / 2 p.m. Eastern for an interactive discussion that will tackle today’s most challenging issues including:

  • Developing strategies for strengthening the recruitment and retention of women in public-sector technology jobs
  • Launching effective mentorship and allyship initiatives
  • Meeting the critical need to create more diverse government IT teams

You’ll also learn more about Google Cloud's Public Sector Women's Collective -- a forum for women in technology to connect, learn, converse, strategize and grow. Register now for this timely and essential webcast.
