JETS II Industry Day Announcement

The Product Manager, Soldier Precision Targeting Devices (PdM SPTD) will conduct a Precision Targeting Industry Days Conference on 28 October and 17-18 November 2021. The PdM SPTD is conducting this Conference to present the future needs of the Army and seek industry’s innovative and light-weight potential solutions for a man-portable precision target location system capable of extended target acquisition ranges, target location ranges, and laser designation, based on emerging requirements.

The conference will be conducted as a follow-on to the Industry Day held in July 2021 and will be focused on the project referred to at that event as the Joint Effects Targeting System (JETS) Next Generation. The project has subsequently been re-titled as JETS II. This Industry Day will be conducted virtually in two phases:

Phase II will be the One-on-One (1on1) discussions with Industry on 17-18 November 2021 to discuss their technology initiatives based on information presented during the Government’s presentation. Each potential prime contractor requesting a 1on1 is requested to include the following information in their presentation:

• Description of your overall approach to a JETS II design, including (1) key technologies and their maturity, (2) expected performance, (3) key methods to minimize weight, and (4) modular approach, including how typical operation can be achieved without use of cables
• Responses to specific questions raised by the Government in the Phase I presentation
• Insights into opportunities to achieve the following, including potential changes in requirements that could enable these, and lead to a better overall solution:
• Lighter Hand-held Target Locator Module (HTLM)
• Lower system weight
• Designed for intuitive operations to allow rapid and accurate targeting
• Production cost reductions

Each Company desiring to meet with the Government will be allotted up to 120 minutes to communicate their innovative solutions to the specific focus areas and needs listed above. Each company will only be allowed a maximum of seven (7) representatives to participate in the 1on1 session. Please limit company background information to no more then 1-2 slides and technical slides not to exceed 50. Additionally, please indicate how many minutes your 1on1 briefing time will need, not to exceed 120 minutes. Read Ahead slides are requested to be sent to the POC listed below no later than 3 days prior to the 1on1s.

Any company who participated in the July 2021 Industry Day, and was not able to present their technology capabilities to the Open Forum (Day 1) will be afforded the opportunity to present information to the open audience. The presentation time will be limited to 30 minutes.
