Federal Insights Exchange featuring DoD - Renata Spinks USMC

The Marine Corps Command, Control, Communications and Computers (IC4) enables IT command, control, communication, and computer support across the Marine Corps Information Environment Enterprise (MCIEE) and the Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF).  They are critical to the development of service policies and execute DC I roles for the Title 10 responsibilities to “Man, Train, Equip” the 0600 and 2800 occupational fields, IT governance, resourcing, cybersecurity, spectrum, capital planning, investment control, portfolio management, and enterprise architecture to deliver the Service’s networks. 

Since August 2021 Renata Spinks has been serving as the permanent Assistant Director of IT/Deputy CIO for IC4 and Senior Information Security Officer for the United States Marine Corps.  Previously, Ms. Spinks served as the nation’s first Cyber Technology Officer (CTO). In her capacity as CTO and acting Asst Director /SISO she was assigned to the United States Marine Forces Cyberspace Command and leads an extensive portfolio inclusive of network defense cyber operations (DCO), technology for business (TBM), data and risk management, finance as well as talent management for workforce development. She continues to be the go-to person for institutionalizing cloud, operationalizing security and defense in depth, migrations and network transformation for the USMC. Her execution models have impacted the DOD in its support for distributing the workforce amid the global pandemic.
