Next Generation of Government Training Summit 2012

What is NextGen?

The Next Generation of Government Training Summit began in 2010 and has enhanced the working and personal lives of 600+ Generation X and Y government employees. The sessions and workshops presented during the two day summit are jam packed with information focused on educating, inspiring and training emerging government leaders to further enhance their day-to-day career and the betterment of government overall.

Young Government Leaders, a professional organization of men and women employed by or for the government who are “young” in their service and/or “fresh” in their perspective, and GovLoop, a social networking knowledge hub for government employees, have continuously taken NextGen to new heights year after year. NextGen 2012 is no exception. This year, the summit will continue to tackle issues the next generation of civil servants is facing in their professional careers through hands-on training,  conversational think-tanks and transformational leadership lessons.

How big is the summit?

Each year, NextGen has nearly doubled it's attendance. Growing from 300 to 500 in the first two years, we are anticipating nearly 700 "new to government", "growing in government" or "need advice on what's next in government" leaders.

Who Should Attend?

The core composition of the summit is comprised of new and/or growing Generation X and Y leaders in government. If you feel lost in the trenches, need to learn the ropes of government, learn and enhance new skills, elevate your leadership knowledge or simply need to shake a negative habit, NextGen is the place for you. There are specific sessions for everyone, from the greener newbies in government to those who have moved up the ranks and feel stagnant or unsure of their next step.

When and where is the summit taking place?

2012 Next Generation of Government Training Summit is being held July 26-27 at the JW Marriott in Washington, DC.

What if I need a hotel?

The summit does not have an official room block. If you wish to stay on location of the summit you may process your accommodations through the JW Marriott website. If you wish to seek another location try out a search tool (i.e. Bing or Kayak) or contact Megan Price for more assistance.

Can I share my badge with someone else?

Yes. The more people we can help educate or get to know the better! If you and your colleagues wish to split the sessions you may attend one at a time. Simply bring the badge to the registration desk and we can swap it out.

Yes, exclusive sponsorships are available. Only 12 sponsors will be able to showcase their products, mingle with the emerging leaders in government and become an influencer to the end users. If you are interested in sponsoring this event contact Doug Mashkuri.
