FOCUS.

This statewide Symposium, co-hosted by Senator Richard Burr, Senator Kay Hagan, and the North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC), is focused on helping installations and federal agencies meet their net zero goals and the requirements outlined in their agencies’ Strategic Sustainability Performance Plans, while simultaneously creating business opportunities for North Carolina businesses.

CONCEPT. 

The Symposium will engage up to 350 industry and government representatives in facilitated, interactive discussions focused on current DoD and installation initiatives, future requirements and industry recommendations to achieve sustainability objectives.

Invited to attend: Deputy Assistant Secretaries of the Navy and Air Force

  • General session: Focused on the DoD Strategic Sustainability Performance Plan, and associated business opportunities
  • Three interactive Roundtables focused on all three aspects of the services’ net zero initiatives (energy, hydro and waste), the Army Energy Initiatives Task Force and goals in the DoD and other agency’s sustainability plans, including business opportunities created by implementation of initiatives to achieve these goals
  • Expo of North Carolina businesses in the environmental and energy marketplace.
