Ana Hinojosa is uniquely qualified to provide insights into what trade compliance professionals and company executives need to know about the forced labor topic. As a former Executive Director at CBP, she was instrumental in setting the policy and standards for the prohibition of importation of goods produced with forced labor that eventually led to the UFLPA legislation and its important requirements to combat forced labor.

Ana brings a global perspective, having worked four years as Director of Compliance and Facilitation with the World Customs Organization. For more than 30 years, she served at U.S. Customs and CBP in various executive-level roles, including Deputy Assistant Commissioner, Office of International Affairs, shaping and promoting CBP’s trade facilitation mission around the world. At present, she is a part-time advisor with Oritain involved in forensic science verification of origin providing traceability in supply chains. Ana is also President of ABH Global Trade Consulting, which leverages her experience to support companies in various customs topics, including forced labor.

Phil Sutter

Phil Sutter specializes in import regulations, harmonized tariff classification, special trade programs, data analysis, and strategic insight. He is a licensed U.S. customs broker since 1998 and maintains the designation of Certified Customs Specialist from the Educational Institute of the National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America (NCBFAA). Phil earned a Bachelor of Accounting degree from Davenport University and a Master of Science in Finance degree from Walsh College. He has a diverse international trade experience, having held customs positions with Ford Motor Company (Import Manager and Classification Manager), Vastera (Classification and Trade Program Senior Project Manager), J.P. Morgan Chase (Vice President of Global Import Compliance), and Livingston International (Director of Import Regulatory Affairs). He currently operates his own Sutter International Trade Consulting. He has previous involvement on various committees of the American Association of Exporters and Importers (AAEI). Throughout his career, Phil has found innovative solutions to complex trade challenges.
