Industry Engagement Day - Upper Guide Wall Slope Stabilization at Dashields Locks & Dam



The Corps of Engineers (USACE), Pittsburgh District intends to advertise a construction contract for upper guide wall slope stabilization at Dashields Locks and Dam near Moon Twp, PA. The solicitation for the project is scheduled to be posted in 2023. The scope will include construction of a secant pile retaining wall to stabilize a landslide that has caused deflection of a sheet pile wall on the landward side of the Upper Guide Wall. The scope will also include developing site access and work platform to support equipment necessary for drilled shaft construction. Construction is anticipated to be in-the-dry. Important project constraints include: Work outside Government property is prohibited. Construction activities must not further destabilize the Upper Guide Wall slope or add driving load to the Upper Guide Wall.

 

In accordance with DFARS 236.204 (ii), the magnitude of construction for the project will be between $25,000,000.00 and $100,000,000.00.

 

This is a save the date announcement for a construction contractor industry engagement day to be held at Dashields Locks and Dam, Moon Township, PA 15108. USACE will be soliciting feedback on the conceptual plans and details to assist with means and methods for construction.

 

The industry engagement day will be held starting at 0800 hours on 15 November 2022 and is open to prime contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers and other vendors who have an interest in this project.
