BARDA Industry Day 2022
BARDA Industry Day (BID) is an annual, two-day virtual conference featuring presentations from BARDA and our industry and interagency partners on the ongoing collective efforts to support continued innovation and advancement in medical countermeasure (MCM) development and preparedness against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) threats, pandemic influenza and emerging infectious diseases. This event includes a networking hub between public and private sectors within the health security space, offering many opportunities for attendee-to-attendee engagement.
During day one’s plenary session, attendees will hear perspectives from Dawn O’Connell, HHS Assistant Secretary leading the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response, and BARDA Director, Dr. Gary Disbrow. Attendees also will hear from congressional members and some of BARDA’s interagency and industry partners, and gain insight into the work being done within BARDA’s divisions to accomplish BARDA’s new strategic plan. The new plan focuses on strengthening the health security of the nation, embracing lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic, incorporating new avenues of promising research and development, and addressing the imperative for MCMs that are safe, effective, and widely accessible to all Americans. These sessions will also provide information about the different funding and partnership opportunities offered by BARDA.
Day two features a variety of breakout sessions hosted by each BARDA division, which will provide attendees with opportunities to engage and learn from some of the leading subject matter experts within the government and industry space.
BID 2022 is an exciting opportunity to explore how the field of MCM development remains on the cutting edge of innovation, and how we can work together to strengthen the health security of the nation.
