The Response to the Rise of Regulating Software
The cybersecurity landscape for the U.S. government is continuously evolving. The U.S. government is embracing DevSecOps and paving the way for digital transformation. Free and readily available open source components allow federal agencies to save time and money and in many cases improve quality empowering innovation velocity.
In today’s world, understanding what’s in your open source software supply chain is critical to national security and critical infrastructure. But not all open source components are created equal. Open source and DevOps can give the federal government the power to keep up with the commercial industry, but not without proper controls. We’re seeing how the federal government develops software and addresses the security issues through a rise of regulating software, particularly in 2021 when President Biden issued Executive Order (EO) 14028, “Improving the Nation’s Cybersecurity.”
Over the last year, methods for compliance with the executive order have been developed, including new federally mandated secure development requirements and certification requirements that will become mandatory in 2023. Join this webinar to learn more about:
- The current state of DevSecOps
- The rise of regulating software
- The impact of increased regulation on security practices across U.S. government
