Government IPv6 Day

Are you struggling to meet the federal government’s Oct. 1 deadline to comply with IPv6 implementation guidelines?

Digital Government Institute’s 6th Annual Government IPv6 Conference on June 6 will help you get a handle on what to do as the deadline approaches, explore how others are making the transition, and learn what to do to expand your website into the world of the next generation of communication.

The event coincides with World IPv6 Day, the second anniversary of an “Around the World” happening. Major ISPs, home networking equipment manufacturers, and web companies are coming together to permanently enable IPv6 for their products and services by June 6, 2012.

Join us as DGI gathers Government IPv6 professionals to support the global deployment of IPv6. Attend this high-energy, interactive event and:

  • Experience real-time world IPv6 deployment stats, and analyze the results with IPv6 industry experts;
  • Interact with peers and discuss what others are doing to support the effort;
  • Get ideas from real-world success stories of IPv6 deployment in the public sector;
  • Explore benchmark strategies already implemented for moving to an IPv6-enabled network;
  • See IPv6 technology demonstrations.

On June 8, 2011, top websites and Internet service providers around the world joined together with more than 1,000 other participating websites in World IPv6 Day. It became a successful global-scale trial of the new Internet Protocol, IPv6. By providing a coordinated 24-hour “test flight”, the event helped demonstrate that major websites around the world are well-positioned for the move to a global IPv6-enabled Internet.    The 2012 World IPv6 Day is expected to be a greater success.  Join your peers at DGI's Government IPv6 Day -- which is free for government professionals to attend -- and walk away with tangible ideas to incorporate into your agency's IPv6 transition plans.
