Specifically, event logging tier 3 requires federal agencies to invest in automation and user behavior monitoring — two critical components in any zero trust architecture. Nick led President Obama’s Open Data Initiatives, co-led the Open Government Initiative, and helped start the Presidential Innovation Fellow program. Prior, Nick played a key role in crafting the National Broadband Plan at the FCC. Nick is also Adjunct Faculty at Harvard Kennedy School and a Senior Fellow at the Belfer Center. Nick teaches a class about policy implementation; prior, for five years, he taught a field course: Tech and Innovation in Government. Nick is the co-author, with Marina Nitze, of Hack Your Bureaucracy: Get Things Done No Matter What Your Role On Any Team, published in 2022.

Certified as a Forrester Zero Trust Strategist, Don Maclean currently serves as DLT’s Chief Compliance Officer. A recipient of the FedScoop 50 award and ICIT Fellow, Mr. Maclean’s duties include overseeing compoliance efforts, formulating and executing cybersecurity portfolio strategy, speaking and writing on security topics, and socializing DLT’s cybersecurity offerings. Mr. Maclean has frequently advised multiple CEOs on Federal go-to-market strategies for cybersecurity products.

Sky Hackett - Sr. Zero Trust Architect @Amazon Web Services

Sky Hackett brings more than 10 years of security, compliance, and payments experience to her role as a Senior Zero Trust Architect with Amazon Web Services (AWS). Most recently, she has worked with clients looking to implement Zero Trust architectures in AWS, whether on EC2 or in EKS. In her previous role as a Senior Security Consultant for Verizon Enterprise Solutions, Sky co-authored Verizon’s 2017 and 2020 Payment Security Reports and co-edited the 2018 report, as well. Sky earned her bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Colorado. Her professional credentials include Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), Qualified Security Assessor (QSA), and Payment Card Industry Professional (PCIP).
