National Crime Victims' Rights Week Candlelight Vigil
The National Crime Victims' Rights Week Candlelight Vigil is hosted by the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC), Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice. This special event pays tribute to victims of crime and the many dedicated professionals and volunteers who advocate on their behalf.
Presided over by OVC Director Kristina Rose, the attendees will hear from our guest speakers, the American Pops Orchestra, and singer/songwriter and musician Kelly Jackson of Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians.
We’re pleased to announce that our guest speakers are:
- Anna Nasset, Victim Survivor and Owner of Stand Up Resources.
- Jerome Brown, Statewide Training Director of SNUG Street Outreach Program, New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services.
- Roberta Roper, Founder, Maryland Crime Victims Resource Center, Inc.
As the vigil closes near sundown, attendees will observe a moment of silence to honor all crime victims.
