Meet Minot's Wing Commanders



Join us for a virtual panel discussion on October 23, 2023 at 10 a.m. ET with two wing commanders at Minot Air Force Base, N.D.: Col. S. Daniel Hoadley, Commander of the 5th Bomb Wing, and Col. Kenneth C. McGhee, Commander of the 91st Missile Wing.

 

Members of the 5th Bomb Wing are continually deployed around the world, taking part in combat and support operations as a part of the Global War on Terrorism. Bomber deployments to Andersen AFB, Guam, support U.S. Pacific Command operations and provide a stabilizing military force in the region.

 

The 91st Missile Wing is an intercontinental ballistic missile wing at Minot. The 91st MW is one of the Air Force's three ICBM wings. The missile wing is responsible for defending the United States by operating, maintaining and securing a fleet of Minuteman III missiles located in underground launch facilities scattered across the northwest part of the state. The wing's missile complex stretches over 8,500 square miles, approximately 12 percent of North Dakota.

Col. S. Daniel Hoadley
Col. Hoadley is commander of the 5th Bomb Wing, Minot Air Force Base, N.D. He ensures the wing’s combat readiness and is responsible for operations involving the wing’s fleet of B-52H bombers to provide deterrence and long-range strike capability for combatant command operations worldwide. Additionally, his command provides logistics support for the 91st Missile Wing.

 

Col. Kenneth C. McGhee
Col. McGhee is the Commander of the 91st Missile Wing at Minot Air Force Base, N.D. He leads more than 1,800 Air Force Airmen and Civilians in support of the nation’s land-based Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) mission. The wing operates, maintains and secures 150 Minuteman III ICBMs, 15 missile alert facilities and 150 remote launch facilities covering an 8,500 square-mile area in central North Dakota. The wing provides global deterrence and defends America with the world’s premier combat-ready ICBM force.
