Red Hat Enterprise Linux Workshop + RHUG Event

Eager to learn how to deploy, manage, and innovate on a platform that will meet your needs today and scale for the future? Join Red Hat® for a hands-on technical workshop paired with a Red Hat User Group (RHUG) and learn about all things Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® (RHEL).

Workshop

During this session, attendees will learn about two, of the many, security-related features included in Red Hat Enterprise Linux: Terminal Session Recording and System-wide Cryptography Policy.  Both of these features were introduced in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and offer new capabilities to system administrators for auditing and configuring the encryption ciphers offered to applications running on the machine.

Topics:

  • Configuring terminal session recording
  • Configuring the system-wide cryptographic policy

RHUG

During this portion of the event, attendees will dive deeper into RHEL security.

This Kansas City Red Hat User Group (RHUG) will explore using systemd features to secure services. Find out how to leverage systemd to increase the security of your services through sandboxing. All recent versions of the most popular Linux distributions are using systemd to boot the machine and manage system services. Systemd provides several features to make the starting of services easier and more secure. This is a rare combination, and this article shows why it is useful to let systemd manage the resources and sandboxing of a service.
