National Crime Victims' Service Awards Ceremony & Candlelight Vigil

Since 1981, National Crime Victims’ Right Week (NCVRW) has challenged the Nation to confront and remove barriers to achieving justice for all victims of crime.

NCVRW will be commemorated nationwide April 21 – 27, 2024. This year’s theme—How would you help? Options, services, and hope for crime survivors.—is a call-to-action for us all to create safe environments for crime victims to share what happened to them. By doing so, we’re able to offer support, options for life-saving services, and, most importantly, hope.

This year, the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) is commemorating NCVRW with two in-person events in Washington, D.C., held under a tent on the National Mall between 3rd – 4th Streets within view of the U.S. Capitol.

The Candlelight Vigil will take place on Wednesday, April 24th at 7:00 p.m. eastern time to pay tribute to crime victims and those who advocate on their behalf.

The National Crime Victims’ Service Awards Ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 25th at 3:00 p.m. eastern time. The Awards Ceremony honors individuals and programs whose outstanding work on behalf of crime victims merits the esteem of their colleagues in the victim services and criminal justice fields.

We hope you will join us for these events. All attendees are required to register, and space is limited. Please visit the Registration Information page to secure your attendance spot.
