U.S. Coast Guard Information Systems Security Officer Conference

This year’s US Coast Guard Information Systems Security Officer Conference will be held at the Doubletree Orlando on International Drive, April 12 through April 16, 2010, with exhibit days April 12-13, 2010.

The conference and training sessions have become a requirement for approximately 150 Coast Guard Information Assurance (IA) professionals and Information Systems Security Officers (ISSO). In addition, the conference will again include a limited number of exhibits on Monday and Tuesday, with a networking opportunity Monday evening.

The Coast Guard ISSO Conference, open to all IA Coast Guard personnel, is hosted by the C4&IT (Command, Control, Computers & IT)/CG-6 Command. The CG-6 designs, develops, deploys, and maintains C4&IT solutions for the entire Coast Guard to enable mission execution and achieve the Coast Guard’s goals of maritime safety, security, and stewardship.

The Information Assurance Division addresses the protection of all Coast Guard systems and information they contain. The IA Division has a continuing responsibility to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems and to ensure essential Coast Guard functions are carried out. Each year, the Coast Guard IA Office has a requirement to continue the Information Systems Security Manager and Information Systems Security Officer training.
