Combined Heat and Power: An Integrated Approach to Energy Resource Optimization

This event qualifies for .2 CEUs

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) will kick-off First Thursday Seminars with the live webcast Combined Heat and Power: An Integrated Approach to Energy Resources on February 7, 2013.

Experts Patricia Welesko Garland and Bob Slattery of Oak Ridge National Laboratory will offer training about technologies, applications, and successful examples to optimize heat and power resources at your site.

Specifically, the instructors will provide training on how to:

  • select and evaluate thermal and prime mover technologies to maximize available resources
  • understand heating and cooling technologies, mechanical drive systems, and local electric generation
  • learn from successful examples that include contracting and financing options, including energy savings performance contracts
  • comply with Federal drivers, environmental impacts, regulatory requirements, and other operating environment factors
  • access available resources throughout the country.

Participants are encouraged to e-mail or call-in their questions before and during the program to receive tailored advice from the experts during the live “Q&A” segment. Questions submitted before the program can be sent to FTS@energyworkshops.org.

The 90-minute training is free of charge, but you must register in advance to obtain an Internet URL for the presentation. The broadcast will take place Thursday, February 7, 2013, from 1:30 to 3:00 Eastern Time and is titled, Combined Heat and Power: An Integrated Approach to Energy Resources.

FEMP First Thursday Seminars are no cost training opportunities to help Federal energy, environmental, and fleet professionals plan and execute projects to help meet Federal goals and requirements.
