What Does the Archivist's Managing Government Records Directive Mean For Federal Agencies?  This session will apprise Federal Agencies of the contents of the Archivist's Directive, including its impact on the Department's preservation of records in electronic form.   Participants will be better prepared to: understand how the Federal Records Act applies to digital and electronic records; meet Federal Agencies’ obligations under the Archivist's Directive; and recognize the special challenges and legal issues associated with the management of and access to electronic records, including but not limited to e-mail, web 2.0 applications, and other forms of government information preserved in the cloud.
