National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) IT Security Awareness Day

FBC and NARA are working together to coordinate the 6th Annual National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) Information Technology Security Awareness Day.  This year's  theme is "Mobile Technology: Managing Risks and Meeting Business Needs."

Exhibitors will be on-site to share information and demonstrate their latest security products. FBC has great support from our sponsor within the Office of Information Services, who will help to promote the show and organize security related sessions.  This year's event will focus on mobility, functionality, and security. Registered exhibitors are encouraged to participate in the informative sessions after the expo portion ends.

The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) is the nation's record keeper. Of all documents and materials created in the course of business conducted by the United States Federal government, only 1%-3% are so important for legal or historical reasons that they are kept forever. Those valuable records are preserved and are available to you, whether you want to see if they contain clues about your family’s history, need to prove a veteran’s military service, or are researching an historical topic that interests you.

NARA continues to enhance perimeter defenses, access control, remote access, incident response capability, and system security configurations; and update their personnel to be consistent with revised National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) guidelines. Hosting a Security Day is one step in helping NARA to accomplish their IT Security awareness.
