National Weather Service Technology Day

In the commercial sector, new technologies are being developed at an explosive rate giving rise to the introduction of new products and services on a daily basis. In the Government, the challenge is to introduce relevant new technologies, products and services within an extremely tight budgetary framework. National Weather Service (NWS) wants to challenge and motivate industry leaders to help the bureau introduce relevant new technologies to ensure that all users of weather information (watches, warnings, advisories and weather forecasts) are assured of getting that information when and where they need it, to enable them to best protect their lives and property against adverse weather events. NWS would like to adopt these commercially developed technologies as soon as they are available, at the lowest possible acquisition and operating cost. NWS wants to partner with industry leaders to ensure not only a steady flow of technology (to the public sector) and weather information (to the commercial sector), but also to leverage the private investment in such technologies for public good. Informational panels and sessions will take place in conjunction with the exhibits throughout the day. If you're interested in speaking, please contact your FBC Account Manager. All NWS and NOAA personnel are invited to attend this one-day event.
