The Future of Intelligent Maritime Operational Readiness

The Symposium will bring together senior level officials from the DHS, specifically the USCG and CBP, intelligence organizations, Homeland defense forces, the defense and homeland security industries, and the academic community to increase the effectiveness of maritime operations.

The 2013 Symposium will focus on key issues including:

- Deterring, Disrupting, and Defeating Transnational Terrorist Organizations - To include: drug cartels, organized piracy operations, and radical militant groups 

- Leveraging multi-source intelligence to make the best use of limited operational resources

- Coast Guard recapitalization efforts to improve readiness and capability

- Public/private partnerships to improve the safety and security of vital assets and infrastructure

- Advances in information sharing and cross organizational efforts to maximize effectiveness and reduce costs

- Capability requirements for ISR assets necessary to improve Maritime Domain Awareness
- Homeland Defense integration and the role of the DoD
