"Better Business Breakthrough" Small Business Seminar

This Secretary of the Air Force Small Business Office (SAF/SB) and WBB sponsored small business seminar is designed to address today’s issues and concerns of small businesses working with the DoD. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in focused discussions on such topics as the mentor-protégé program, impact of the Affordable Care Act, growing in the defense market, intellectual property, outlook on innovation and mergers and acquisitions.

The two-day course includes JCIDS, PPBE, Acquisition, and Working with Congress.  Requirements and Organization modules for the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and USSOCOM will be presented. *Valued at $1,595 per seat. Must attend to redeem.

Speaker and Presenter Information

Keynote Presentation; Mr. Paul Simpkins, DoD OSBP Paul Simpkins serves as the Assistant Director at the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Office of Small Business Programs and the Program Manager for the Mentor-Protégé Program. In this role, he is responsible for policy, oversight, management, and program administration. He works with DOD and federal program managers in the execution of the program. He has served in a number of procurement management and leadership positions throughout the DoD and federal government to include the Department of Defense Dependent Schools (DODDS), the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), the U.S. Department of the Navy, U.S. Department of the Air Force, U.S. Department of the Army, and the Marine Corps. His recent positions were as the Acquisition Director for the U.S. Department of Justice, Executive Office of U.S. Attorneys, and Director of Contracting for the U.S. Department of the Navy in Singapore. In these roles, he was responsible for providing direction, oversight, and policy for their respective acquisition programs.
