Washington Technology Emerging Tech (DARPA & IARPA) Industry Day

The federal government is one of the largest research and development engines in the world. It is also one of the more successful with the birth of the Internet often the most cited example.

Today, much of the government’s R&D focuses on the cloud, mobility, analytics and cybersecurity. Agencies need new ways to communicate, collaborate and make better decisions. They also need more efficient ways of meeting their missions

Total R&D spending in the government is just shy of $140 billion a year, with both civilian and defense efforts topping $60 billion. The IT portion of that spending is $3.7 billion, with spending coming from a variety of agencies such as the Defense Department, Energy, NASA, Homeland Security and the National Science Foundation.

Attend this industry day which will visit these topics and more and explore the government’s technology roadmap. We’ll identify the next disruptive technologies and how government agencies such as the Defense Advanced Research and Projects Agency and the Jet Propulsion Lab are working to bring technologies out of the labs and into the real world.

The panelists and speakers will explain their latest projects, their priorities and where they need industry’s help and support.

We’ll also have leading technology companies talking about their own research and development dollars and what those dollars mean to new opportunities in the market.

Companies of all sizes will have a role to play in bringing critical new technologies to market in the public sector space.
