CEWIT 2017

13th International Conference & Expo on Emerging Technologies for a Smarter World (CEWIT2017)

Registration Opens in September.

The NYSTAR-designated New York State Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology (CEWIT) at Stony Brook University has been organizing this annual international conference since 2003 with a repertoire that has expanded significantly over the years to now encompass information dissemination, IT entrepreneurship, and elaborate cross-disciplinary research. Gaining recognition as one of the leading information technology conferences, converging academic research, industry advances and entrepreneurial innovations at a single forum, CEWIT2017 marks the now 13th year and several special events are being planned to celebrate this exciting moment.

Co-sponsored by IEEE and Stony Brook University, the CEWIT2017 Conference will continue its tradition of providing the premier international forum for presentations of original research results as well as the exchange and transfer of innovative applications of emerging technologies in infrastructure, healthcare, and energy - three of the most critical components of a smarter global environment. This year’s conference will feature multiple parallel sessions on major vanguard themes including the Internet of Things; Cybersecurity; Big Data Analytics and Visualization; Health Technologies and Medical Devices; Smart Energy; Smart Urban Systems; and Information Technology and Society, with a focus on the concept of the Internet of Everything as a means to drive the intellectual discussion and to explore new capabilities, richer experiences, and unprecedented economic opportunities that exemplify the qualities of a smarter global environment.

Furthermore, a joint effort by CEWIT, MATIMOP, the Israeli Consulate of New York, CEWIT Korea and CEWIT’s community of forward looking industry partners, the CEWIT2016 Conference will again host an International Business-to-Business (IB2B) component. The CEWIT2017 IB2B provides an organized platform for participating companies to pursue well-crafted business and investment partnerships, enable technology transfer and maximize access to international and regional markets while securing a rich environment for the exchange of innovative ideas and information within the burgeoning entrepreneurial communities of the Long Island and New York regions and those of CEWIT’s partnering international organizations in Israel and Korea.

The CEWIT2017 IB2B component will serve as the second portion, the business function, of the CEWIT Conference’s three-part objective – Technical: to disseminate cutting-edge developments and applications of emerging technologies in infrastructure, healthcare, and energy; Business: cultivate commercialization potential of resulting technologies to drive the local, regional, and global innovation economies; and Social: to enhance industry, academia and government synergy.

With more than 175 participating organizations and 500 attendees, CEWIT2017 is a destination for researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs, across borders and disciplines, to exchange ideas, build valuable partnerships and bring cutting-edge technology to the marketplace.
