The American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC) invites you to the Lifting the Curtain with Reverse Industry Day on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at the Renaissance Washington in Washington, DC.
REQUIREMENTS DEVELOPMENT IN FEDERAL ACQUISITION -- Before there is a contract and before there is a solicitation, there is a need or requirement that the end-user deems necessary to meet the agency’s mission. The identification and definition of this need occur during the requirement development phase, and sound requirement development is the key to successful procurement for Federal agencies, the contractor, and the people involved in this process. However, there are internal and external challenges in this process. During the morning session, you will hear from Government and Industry leaders in the field of Acquisition, as they discuss these challenges in this process.
Following the morning session, we will have a working lunch followed by a Reverse Industry Day.
REVERSE INDUSTRY DAY -- This Reverse Industry Day will provide an opportunity for industry to express their views and perspectives on Request for Information (RFIs), Request for Proposals (RFPs), Oral Presentations, Pilot Demonstrations, and other acquisition-related interactions with the government
You will hear expert panelist, share and discuss “real-life” examples and impacts from an industry perspective. In addition, they will provide recommendations and suggestions on how to improve the overall proposal process. The ability to share these perspectives helps to improve and diminish the myths, misunderstandings, and ambiguities associated with the proposal processes. It further intends to improve communications and interactions more openly between government and industry.
AS A RESULT OF THIS FORUM YOU WILL ABLE TO:
- Comprehend the interaction between stakeholders during the requirement development process
- Calibrate industry business development efforts with agency requirement development processes
- Develop effective industry engagement strategies during the requirement development phase
- Align agency needs and mission objectives with available private-sector market solutions
- Improve private-sector and agency interaction throughout the requirement development phase
- Identify the strengths and weaknesses of current agency requirement development practices
- Improved communication and understanding between government and industry
- Better clarity in the proposal process
- Determine whether a more simplified process can be developed that would save time and cost to both government and industry
