Closing the Gap: Leveraging Data to Drive City Performance & 311 Service Excellence

"How do I do more with less?" is the the question every city government agency is asking.

With ever increasing constraints on budget, resources and time, government agencies are left seeking answers to strategic and tactical questions about how they are going to close the gap on citizen expectations and operational performance goals. Some of these questions include:

  • How do we guarantee a level of service performance to citizens as the city population expands, diversifies and ages?
  • How do we move beyond crisis management to proactively support the delivery of defined performance goals?
  • How do we manage data and operations to meet requirements for transparency, accountability, and performance?
  • How do we provide a consistent and common view of operations that is easily shared with internal and external stakeholders?

Join Fedresults and Tableau as Chuck Half, City Innovation & Performance Manager for the City of Pittsburgh, will share how they launched the Pittsburgh Management and Performance System (PittMAPS) to improve accountability, transparency, and increase effiiciencies in day to day government operations across its city services. However, they found it difficult to make data-driven decisions without an easy way to view and share data. They were able to overcome this challenge with data visualization and performance dashboards that allowed them to explore and analyze the data more quickly and helped foster a culture of transparency, internal focus and improved performance across the 15 departments; especially its 311 service.

This presentation will show you how to unlock insight from data to:

  • Make better data-driven decisions
  • Drive increased efficiencies and performance across departments
  • Provide better leadership and accountability
