Government Reliance on Voluntary Consensus Standards and Conformance Programs



The seventh in a series of ANSI-sponsored annual events focused on bringing together leaders from the standardization community, the 2013 Open Forum will be held in Washington, DC, on October 2, 2013, as part of the World Standards Week series of events.

Open Forum 2013: Government Reliance on Voluntary Consensus Standards and Conformance Programs will begin with a keynote address offering perspectives on Incorporation by Reference (IBR) and the Pipeline Safety Bill, followed by a comprehensive program including an update on the ANSI IBR standards portal under development, a moderated discussion on issues surrounding the incorporation by reference of voluntary consensus standards into government regulation, and further discussion on how government agencies and legislators rely upon voluntary consensus standards and conformance programs to meet national needs.
