Meet Your 2014 FISMA Requirements: Evolving Continuous Authorization Capabilities and Cybersecurity Calendar

Digital Government Institute's popular FISMA Training Seminar will address how to successfully and effectively meet your 2014 FISMA requirements by understanding the FISMA Trends, Rising Needs and Solutions and creating your own management tools.  Those who attended DGI FISMA courses in the past three years will find this course evolved with the new capabilities and requirements, and contains many new solutions, examples and strategies.

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) have made major advances in moving Federal information technology (IT) security forward.  They have created new standards, processes, and solutions that are streamlining and automating security and moving us closer to the goal of total near-real-time security awareness.

This popular 2-day course has been updated to provide you with new specific and practical strategies for leveraging the changes into meeting your individual and enterprise FISMA responsibilities in 2014.

Course attendees will:

  • Identify the Five FISMA Fears and how to overcome them easily;
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the new 2014 FISMA requirements and processes (FISMA metrics, CyberScope, SCAP, CyberStat Reviews, etc.);
  • Understand the new NIST standards for the new Authorization Process, Risk Management Framework (RMF), Risk Assessments, and Information Security Continuous Monitoring (ISCM);
  • Learn how to conduct a risk assessment and use the results to identity and justify more effective security solutions and gain additional resources;
  • Participate in solving problems related to establishing effective boundaries, conducting risk assessments, facilitating group solutions, leveraging common controls, and tailoring security controls;
  • Identify SCAP, CAG, and DoD Approved Product List (APL) security solutions;
  • Receive strategies on how to leverage these changes to improve their security and make their FISMA efforts more effective; and,
  • How to create a FISMA Cybersecurity Calendar to effectively manage their cybersecurity actions and increase resources for improving their system and enterprise security.
