AFCEA Bethesda Health IT Day

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act promised $19 billion for Health IT. Since then, electronic health records and health IT management have emerged as a major component of the healthcare debate. As industry struggles over the costs and benefits of health IT, many government agencies have surged forward---leading the way, from the Department of Veterans Affairs to the Department of Health and Human Services.

AFCEA Bethesda’s Health IT Day will bring together senior government leaders and IT professionals from the health and medical communities to foster better communication, share lessons learned, and identify mission-critical health IT issues. This full-day event will focus on federal initiatives and programs that harness current and emerging technologies to improve the quality, safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of the health care infrastructure.

Panel topics will explore:
Health Reform and HITECH – Sorting Out the Implications for Next Steps in Health IT  The Ongoing VLER Story and the Future Role of Industry ARRA and Federal Perspective on Emerging Health IT Funding Opportunities
Register today and benefit from:
Networking opportunities with more than 500 industry colleagues and partners who are also interested in Health opportunities – both prime and sub-contractors, companies big and small Keynote presentations from health IT leaders  Panel discussions featuring key stakeholders at critical agencies such as FDA, CDC, CMS, HHS, VA, DoD and DHS who are responsible for achieving Federal health objectives through the use of IT Program updates from IT project managers and department leaders Concurrent Small Business Program with breakout sessions and one-on-one town hall meetings with small business representatives from various agencies
