AFCEA Bethesda's January Breakfast

Social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube have become commonplace tools for government outreach. However, agencies are moving away from social media as an outbound communication tool and enlisting social media to help do many jobs better. Agencies leverage social media to reach underserved audiences during key initiatives who otherwise would not have paid attention to the referendum, get accurate information out more quickly during emergencies such as Hurricane Sandy and capitalize on citizens as real-time sensors through crowdsourcing to solve government problems and improve services. Taking it a step further, agencies are reimaging the delivery of services by using tools to collect, track, manage and analyze the success of their digital engagement with stakeholders.

Join AFCEA Bethesda on January 22 at the Bethesda North Marriott and Conference Center for “Social Media and Reimagining the Delivery of Services” an executive breakfast to discuss how agencies use social media in ways that move us toward being more effective at receiving information, analyzing social media data sources and better understanding the needs of constituents.
