November Monthly Speaker Series Building a Framework for a High Performance Government through Policy, Business Enablers, and Innovation

This event qualifies for 1 CEUs

As the Administration develops the U.S. Open Government National Action Plan 2.0 to further harness new technologies, policy continues to drive innovation and change. Open data, mobile computing, identity management, Cloud First and more have brought to government leaders new tools to improve mission performance.

AFFIRM’s November educational forum will draw upon both government policy leaders and practitioners to talk about how to seamlessly integrate these new policies for a more nimble and responsive government. The November program is the first of a series on this set of topics.

  • Step through an umbrella framework from policy to mission effectiveness, tracking our progress from the fundamentals to the results:
  • Discuss recently issued policies, like Cloud First, FedRAMP, Digital Government and GPRPA modernization, and discuss their linkages
  • Present some business enablers, such as Open Data, Cloud (IaaS, AaaS, PaaS), and FedRAMP progress
  • Share recent innovations in the Federal IT environment, including identity management, mobile computing, performance, and big data;
  • Summarize how all the above will help better drive mission effectiveness, delivering a more agile, efficient and performance-based government.

We’ll explore:

  • The implications of these new policies and how they work together to further the mission.
  • What led to the need for new governance policy, and how will they effect government day to day.
  • How agency CIOs are leveraging these new tool to modernize I.T.
  • Lessons learned and best practices from other agencies as they tie together new policies and new processes to drive success.
