Pacific Spectrum Management Conference

The Annual Spectrum Management Conference is hosted by the Joint Frequency Management Office PACIFIC (JFMOPAC). This 5 day conference will be the forum for JFMOPAC to meet the Frequency Managers from each regional office. The Conference consists of forums and discussions regarding updates in the frequency and spectrum arenas, with exhibit days Tuesday and Wednesday.

Through the displays, vendors will showcase the latest advancements in telecommunications technology shared with theater nations. Venders are also able to attend conference sessions.

The workshop discussion will be a vital international forum for addressing issues regarding the electromagnetic spectrum. It is the only forum where theater components, national level agencies, and host nations can assemble jointly. It is designed to address Pacific spectrum management issues with U.S. and host nation/government participants for improving work relationships between nations. Attendees include organizations from DoD, Federal government/non-government agencies, and Pacific host nations/government representatives both military and civil. Over 200 attendees participated in the 2009 Pacific Spectrum Conference including 20 Pacific Rim nations. It is an excellent venue for improving U.S. relationships with regional partners.

It is an important forum for OSD NII to share U. S. positions with Pacific Rim countries for future International Telecommunications Union, World Radio Conference 2012 agenda issues. It provides DoD agencies and theater component warfighters with a clear understanding of regional issues and how to improve Combatant Command/Joint Tasks Force access to the electromagnetic spectrum. The forum is used to allow host nations to clarify and articulate their spectrum allocation procedures.
