Gov 2.0 Summit 2010

From open data to social media, from web services to mobile applications, from crowdsourcing to cloud computing, government is exploring the power of the latest wave of technology to lower the costs of government while increasing its capabilities. Last year's inaugural Gov 2.0 Summit brought leaders from federal, state, and local government together with individual and corporate entrepreneurs, citizens, not-for-profits, and educators, to articulate and explore the idea of “government-as-platform”.

Gov 2.0 Summit 2010 will expand on the successes of the past year and push the boundaries even further. We will focus on using new ideas, processes, and technologies to work on “things that matter”, problems that affect people personally and directly at both the individual and societal levels.

We will explore and examine:

  • How Government 2.0 approaches might impact critical issues, like better health care delivery, cyber-security, financial regulation, and the future of learning
  • How entrepreneurs are innovating and “doing what works”, achieving success in small-scale projects

Together we will imagine what comes next as these powerful ideas converge with the passion of people who want to make a difference.

Join us at the Gov 2.0 Summit with leaders and decision makers to refine the concept of government-as-platform and explore the ways in which it can be used for transformation; to create a community of Gov 2.0 leaders who can push change forward and outward year-round; and to answer the President’s call to strengthen our democracy.

The power of an idea pursued by people with passion has been a recurring theme in American history and progress. In 2009, the promise of a transparent and open government yielded such a moment. Join with us in seizing that moment. We've opened up the request for invitations to attend this year's event. Last year's event was sold out. Submit your request today and reserve your seat at the table.
