About the WIC Program:

The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for WIC is a federal assistance program that provides health care and nutrition for low-income pregnant women, new mothers, and young children. WIC acted as a first responder to these participants in the recent economic downturn. ARRA dedicated $500 million to the program, with $100 million designated for IT projects. The implementation of automated processes is an integral part of the program’s infrastructure. This webinar is an overview of INPUT's report, The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), on the WIC program and the technology contracting opportunities available to vendors. The report will also provide an overview of states’ system initiatives and requirements for modern web technology to accommodate program changes and to support national WIC EBT efforts.

Presenter:

The webinar will be presented by INPUT’s State and Local Health Care and Social Services Analyst Kate Tussey and Principal Analyst Sherry Ashby.
