IBM Watson Group: The Road to Cognitive Computing

When IBM announced the launch of the Watson Group on January 9, 2014, it signaled a new era of computing - the cognitive era. IBM Watson debuted on Jeopardy in February 2011 and crushed the competition. Three years later, IBM has formed a new business unit to bring the sophisticated, cognitive computing solution to the enterprise. The notion of harnessing an organization's information assets, external information sources, and social media data to solve problems and get answers has arrived.

Many studies have taken place that measure the inefficiencies in which organizations interact with information. Simply, logging in and out of multiple systems, multiple windows, and manual correlation is under whelming. Organizations want to know what they don't already - in Watson vernacular, "Tell me what I don't know?"

End users and analysts don't care where the information lives. They want to reduce the amount of information or "noise" in the equation to lessen the mean time to resolve an issue or problem. IBM Watson can put the power of cognitive computing in the government's hands, and solve problems faster, better, and cheaper.

Join IBM Watson Group and ESVA for an hour-long webcast that will discuss:

  • The new era of cognitive computing and what this means for the government
  • What Watson is and how it works
  • The on-ramp to Watson - how to get started
