Bamford, Special Agent in-Charge (SAC) of the FBI’s Boston Field Office. In his career Mr. Bamford has served in Washington, New Haven, and Baltimore Field Offices where he worked extensively in the violent crime program. His experience includes being a member of the Hostage Rescue Team (HRT), a SWAT team leader in New Haven, and as a supervisor of a Safe Streets Task Force in the Washington D.C. area. Mr. Bamford has wide-ranging Counterterrorism experience as well having served as an Assistant Section Chief of the Domestic Terrorism Operations Section, as an Assistant Special Agent in-Charge (ASAC) in the FBI’s Critical Incident Response Group (CIRG) where he oversaw the FBI’s crisis management, negotiation, Bomb Data Center, Hazardous Devices Response, and Rapid Deployment Programs. Mr. Bamford served as Section Chief of the Strategic Information and Operations Center (SIOC) at FBI Headquarters. In this capacity, he helped manage crisis and special events by ensuring the timely and effective flow of operational information between field offices, Headquarters executives, substantive units, and other government agencies. Most recently Mr. Bamford served as the Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Los Angeles Field Office’s Counterterrorism and Intelligence Division, where he had oversight of approximately 450 investigative and analytical personnel. In addition, he had responsibility for all crisis response assets and the management of all special events within the division. Mr. Bamford graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from St. Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire in 1980. He was commissioned as a Marine Corps Officer after graduation and served until 1986, when he entered on duty as a Special Agent with the FBI McAfee: Dave Marcus, Director, Security Research & Communications McAfee Labs Dave Marcus currently serves as Director of Security Research and Communications for McAfee® Labs, focusing on bringing McAfee’s extensive security research and global threat intelligence to McAfee’s customers and the greater security community. Dave formerly served as Senior Security Evangelist and Strategist for McAfee, with more than ten years of technical experience in network solutions, information technology security, network performance and integration, e-learning solutions, in addition to management and consulting. Mr. Marcus’ current focus at McAfee Labs includes PR, media, and thought leadership responsibilities, serving as both blogmaster and tweetmaster for McAfee Labs Security Blog, and is the co-host of AudioParasitics – The Official PodCast of McAfee Labs. Marcus also has responsibilities for all publications from McAfee Labs, such as McAfee Labs’ journal of security vision The McAfee Security Journal. His industry experience crosses all IT-based industries with a determined focus on advanced intelligence gathering, digital forensic analysis, as well as intrusion detection/prevention and analysis on both the network and host. Mr. Marcus is also a Qualified Expert Witness in Computer Forensics and Computer Security as well as being one of the most highly sought after speakers on all levels of information security. VMWare: Rob Randell, CISSP | Staff Systems Engineer - Security and Compliance Specialist Rob Randell is a Staff Security and Compliance Specialist at VMware with over 14 years experience in IT and over 10 years in Security. Rob’s current role is to advise VMware customers on security related aspects of virtualization as well as speak at different security and virtualization events like VMworld and the RSA Security Conference. Rob came to VMware as part of the Determina acquisition where Rob was a Senior Systems Engineer where he was responsible for working with customers on the technical aspects of Determina’s next generation memory protection technology. Prior to Determina, Rob was a Senior SE at Webroot and prior to that Vericept which was the original player in the DLP space. Compellent: Jeff Dugan, Storage Architect Jeff Dugan has been an accomplished IT professional for the past 11 years implementing best of breed solutions, including over 8 years experience within the storage industry. Jeff currently has been the Compellent Storage Architect in the Northern New England region for the past 1 ½ years. Prior to Compellent, he served as a Senior Data Solutions Consultant for F5 Networks, a leader in file virtualization, delivering unmatched service and technology to his customers. Before Jeff’s work at F5, he was the Storage Manager for Ibis Consulting a Pitney Bowes division. Ibis was the pioneer in the Electronic Discovery Industry. Ibis Consulting is noted for being the company that performed the electronic discovery uncovering key pieces of evidence during the Enron scandal. At Ibis, he was responsible for the design and operation of the 24x7 IBIS production environment including the implementations of several industry leading technologies such as the Compellent Storage Center. Prior to Ibis, he served as a Consulting Manager for Covansys. Mr. Dugan received a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Computer Information Systems from Bryant College in Smithfield, Rhode Island.
