Countering Terrorism and the Threat of IEDs in AFRICA



MKDS Training is pleased to announce that it has launched its first series of 5 days training Seminars, Exercises, exhibition, live demonstrations and conference in West Africa in partnership with the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC). The event will be held at the GAFCSC in ACCRA, Ghana on December 8 - 12, 2014.

 

Mission

MKDS Training have been tasked by the Ghana Armed Forces Command & Staff College (GAFCSC), to provide a series of Counter Terrorism and Counter-IED Training Seminars at the GAFCSC in Accra, Ghana on December 8 - 12, 2014 during which Participants from the African union will have the opportunity to attend training seminars conducted by MKDS Training SMEs, and one day Security & Counter-Terrorism in Africa Conference featuring High level presentations & panels discussions, from leading experts from the AU , EU and North America. Companies with services and solutions focused on mitigating the threat of terrorism, Protecting infrastructure will be able to exhibit and demonstrate their capabilities to decision makers from the region. 

 

The focus of these seminars will be on Counter-Terrorism planning and operations, Counter-IED, IEDD, Terrorist Search operations and Infrastructure protection for key national assets including Oil and Gas facilities.

 

Objectives

 

Countering Terrorism and the Threat of IEDs in Africa will provide attendees from the region with the awareness to the tactical threat posed by acts of terrorism, and the use of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), as well as the systems, tactics, techniques and procedures used by extremist terrorists groups. The series of Seminars will also introduce Counter Terrorism Specialists, IED operators, tactical commanders to a range of overt and covert techniques used in the rapid assessment and neutralization of IEDs and suicide devices, encountered during hostage rescue and counter-terrorism operations.

 

 

 

Participants will also learn the practical skills required to accurately manage risk and assess the threat level to key assets including Oil & Gas facilities and pipeline networks.

The Seminars will be delivered to participants through the use of lectures, inert Training aids and table top exercis

The Security and Counter-Terrorism in Africa one day conference will feature high level speakers from across section of government, military and NGOs from Africa the EU and North America, assessing the current security threats and challenges in Africa and their regional and global implications.

 

The event will also feature a panel discussion on the state of the current peacekeeping operations in Africa and the challenges ahead.
