The Cloud Computing Survivor’s Guide for Government

This is not only a workshop on understanding the current state of cloud computing, it also addresses understanding your own IT requirements which dictate where and how cloud computing could be a fit with your enterprise.    

Cloud computing is the concept of leveraging IT assets over the Internet to provide more scalable, cost effective, and adaptable services to the organization. However, the concepts behind cloud computing reach much further.  Cloud computing is an evolution of thinking regarding how you create and deploy information systems.

Cloud computing - latest IT buzzword or the nest evolution of computing?  Is it real and does it work? Who is using it and how? Does it really offer the benefits promiosed?  If so, how does one get started? What are the basic concepts of cloud computing, and how do I apply them within my enterprise or agency?  What are IaaS, PaaS and SaaS and how should they be combined to assure my environment supports the mission?
