Different agencies and organizations have provided unique perspectives and mission foci on core capabilities and methods developed around the pillars of ABI. And most importantly… why ABI?

Deliberate changes to analytical tradecraft is attributed to evolving ABI practices. Some of these changes have been driven by mission changes, while others have evolved as technological capability has improved. But where does ABI fit in the overarching umbrella of intelligence analysis? How has ABI’s key tenets influenced thinking about broader analytical modernization, and what role will ABI-trained analysts play in the future?

• Victoria Nguyen, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency
• Nick Williams, U.S. Navy (Invited)

ABI may mean different things to different people, depending on whether you are approaching “ABI” from an agency, community or ODNI perspective. When it comes to funding and authorities, however, Congress could well have the final say. Three veteran Hill staffers offer an opportunity to hear a range of views the U.S. Congress is considering on this important community initiative.

Moderator: David Berteau, Center for Strategic and International Studies
• Frank Garcia, U.S. House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence
• Jim Hildebrand, U.S. House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence
